Safe ferry ride to Pulau Tioman
Going to Pulau Tioman? Use the ferry services
from the Tanjung Gemuk jetty or take 40- minute
Berjaya Air direct flights from the Subang airport
to the island.
This is Berjaya Tioman Beach, Golf and Spa Resort's
advice to its guests and trevellers.
The 361- room resort has a dedicated counter
at Tanjung Gemuk engaging the services of Fast
Ferry Venture Sdn Bhd, which has valid ferry licenses
and boats which are in good condition and equipped
with emergency gear.
Fast Ferry Venture transports guests to the
resort's door- step while providing convenience
and safety to guests.
"Only ferries with ample emergency equipment
and adhering to strict safety standards are allowed
to transport passengers to the resort ",
Berjaya Tioman general manager Gordon Koh said.
He also vouches for the Blue Water Ferry Services
in Mersing.
" Their ferries are new and made of high-
quality fiberglass material ", Koh said.
His reassurances come in the wake of the Seagull
Express ferry tragedy recently.
Koh said the resort was, as a precaution to
avoid similar incidents, providing additional
information operation schedules from Mersing and
Tanjung Gemuk, apart from adopting measures to
facilitate a smoother ride to Tioman.
Berjaya Hotels and Resorts marketing communications
director Thang Han-Ni said a special hotline had
been set up at its reservations office (603 2141
0088) for guest inquiries.
" In situations such as this, the company's
first priority is the safety of our guests, employees
and immediate neighbors. This situation poses
no threat to our guests, safety and the resort
is back to business.
" We maintain high standards in travel safety.
The Seagull Express ferry incident is one that
could- have been avoided, and we will endeavor
to work with government officials and agencies
to reinforce the safety of our customers",
she said.
