FitKid World Championship 2007 Malaysia


Bentong, 3rd July – Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said, Minister of Youth & Sports officiated FITKID® WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP 2007 at the Berjaya Hills - Colmar Tropicale and Malaysia will be the first ever country in the Asia Pacific Region hand-picked by the International Fitness Federation (IFF) to ost the prestigious event.

The event will kick off on Sunday, 29 July 2007 at the National Stadium Putra Bukit Jalil. That was Organized by Myevents International and supported by the Malaysian Ministry of Youth & Sports and the Malaysian Ministry of Tourism,

The Championship differs from any other body-building competition as the concept illustrates the combined elements of Gymnastics, Aerobics and Dancing, boasting an athlete’s forte in various attributes including physical beauty, natural strength, flexibility and style.

 

Athletes from all over Europe, Asia and the USA will be participating in the event. By far, 90 international athletes have confirmed participation and Malaysia will be sending the largest delegate comprising a team of 15 athletes.

Rules and rounds of the competition have been designed to facilitate the special needs of the children participants of the given age group, which are structured to three different age categories (from 7 to 17 years of age) and according to gender. The championship will be divided into two segments. Stage One will see the athletes taking part in a promotional road tour prior to the event, whilst Stage Two (on the event day) will see the athletes competing with one another in the Final Show, performing guided routines called the Elegant Round, the Physique Round and the Free Round.

Apart from making a breakthrough in Sports Tourism, this spectacular and first-of-its-kind event for Malaysia will coincide with two national celebrations this year – the country’s 50th Year of Independence and the Visit Malaysia Year 2007 – and will definitely add more colour and liveliness to the country.
